iphone 4s camera died within 60 seconds of using it?!

Just got my iphone activated after like 4 hours of waiting today. I eagerly open up the camera and can see the high res beautifulness. Then I'm just looking at it, and all of a sudden it looks like a fuzzy television and then just goes completely black. Now looking at the camera its completely black. I rebooted phone and still black.

If I switch the camera to the facetime view, I can see and its working fine.

WTF, did the camera really die after 60 seconds of use?!??! And no, I do not have any **** blocking the camera on the back.

Perhaps its the 1 phone out of 1000 that was built incorrectly or has faulty equipment.

It doesn't seem like a software issue.....
