iPhone 4S constantly runs on Edge

Hello -

Switched over from AT&T yesterday to Verizon and got the 4S.

Since I got it, I am constantly on Edge rather than 3G. I am in areas where there are good service and never had an issue with AT&T.

I was messing around in settings and turned ON data roaming and for the last half hour since I did it I have remained on 3G.

Has anyone else noticed this issue and have a better work around than turning on roaming?

Thanks. it seems to be on 3G more consistently now
