iPhone 4S cutting out during phone calls

Has anybody else experienced this? I would say this happens with half of the calls I make. At first I thought it was me with my face but it keeps happening. The proximity sensor does seen to work when I hold my finger 1cm or so from it during a call. I'm also in an area with good signal so I don't think it's that. It never used to happen with my 3GS.

My iphone 3 has started doing exactly the same .. did you resolve the problem ?
