iphone 4s does not work with aux input

I connected my iPhone 4s to aux input to listen to music but no sound comes thru speakers. Worked fine with my iPod. Anyone have any suggestions?
 
The iPhone 4S does do this. Turn up the volume and make sure the cable is in all the way.
