hey guys, are the iphone 4S earbuds the same as the iphone 4 Earbuds or they are different?

Reading my post you'll see I included a slash between the 3G and 3Gs. This signifies that I am currently uncertain of the exact time the newer version was released. Furthermore, some iPhone 3G's where sold with the newer version.

i noticed on the iphone 4s earbud that they added a small rubber reinforcment i guess below the part where the mic starts. so whats with that?

umm, they decided that area needed reinforcement. does it really matter?

It's all in what you're used to. Any brand of high quality ear buds are far better than the included pair. The Apple ear buds are sub par at best when compared to other OEM ear buds. They're also quite uncomfortable if you're used to ear buds that fit properly. Spending the money for a good mid price range set will make a huge difference in your enjoyment.

you can buy many headphones far superior for a reasonable price. Skull Candy, Meelec, Shure, Sony too name a few. I'm talking in the $20 range but even around $10. personally I can't stand Apple's headphones. it depend on your ears and your listening range. and how much music you plan to listen too. if it's allot then look at a-jays 4 $70 Kilipsh S4I about $100 btw ebay has a ton of cheap knock off's on these. (stay away) you won't be sorry. also stay away from from Dr. Dre overpriced overrated. http://www.head-fi.org/ has great reviews by users.

I read a while back that they hired a guy or had a job req for someone to improve their headphones. Maybe we'll see something new for iPhone 5. I'd rather stick with my phenomenal Klipsche S4i ear buds regardless though.
