Going off of Apple's iPhone 4/4s press releases, it looks like the initial launch of the iPhone 4s will include two additional countries, and the second launch will happen significantly quicker (~14 days later, vs ~37 days later), and the second launch will have four more countries.
iPhone 4:
Initial launch = 5 countries
Next launch (~37 days) = 18 additional countries
iPhone 4s:
Initial launch = 7 countries
Next launch (~14 days later) = 22 additional countries
Back in June, Apple sent a "We've learned a lot" poster to all of their stores. Included in it is "When it comes to product launches, we've learned we have to work hard to ensure supply meets demand. If not on the first day, then soon thereafter."
Looks like they're taking that to heart with the iPhone 4s launch.
I also wonder how much this building of inventory BEFORE the launch pushed back the launch from it's normal June date?
