Just a few questions on standing in line for the 4s
do u think i have a good chance of getting a 16gb att if i get at the store 3 hours before they start selling at 8
When i get it how do i activate the iphone so i can use it since this is my first iphone and i need to get a data plan
Would i need my parents for upgrading my phone and getting a data plan if im over 18?

You need the ssn of the account holder.

You will need to be an authorized user on your parents plan or they will need to be there with you (name on the account). You should be fine 3 hours early.

How hard is it to be an authorized user and is it possible to still get unlimited data for iphone

How hard is it to be an authorized user and is it possible to still get unlimited data for iphone

On Verizon I was able to be added as an authorized user over the phone. Unlimited is only possible on Sprint if you didn't already have it on another carrier.

If you can get access to your parents online AT&T account you can add yourself as an authorized user. And no, there's no way you can get an unlimited data plan unless you've had one from the get-go.

As for fees, it depends on whether you have a line on the account already or not. If so, then there is an $18 upgrade fee. If not, there is a $36 activation fee. Either of these two fees will appear on your next bill, and will not need to be paid when you purchase the phone.
