Iphone 4s hardware question. 3g / WI FI / Bluetooth

Im having serious 3g speed problems with a iphone 4s. averaging .50mbs downloads...whats weird is that my upload speed is usually double my download speed.
Im also having poor wifi speeds. Im not sure what is good for wifi, but my laptop is getting 20mbs downloads, the iphone 1.5 if im lucky.

Are these hardware components connected? Im thinking i have faulty hardware and that i should go into an apple store.

any thoughts?

ive restored as new, reset network settings, updated router firmware..etc

Maybe hardware. Hard to say. My iPhone gets the same 25mb up and down as my laptop if that means anything. I'd take it in for some tests.

Try a couple different speedtest servers. Thought I was having wifi trouble but discovered that the speedtest app was choosing a different server than the computer. Manually selecting the server on the phone gave more realistic results.

ok i tried your suggestion. There were a few servers with better performance despite being much further away. The wifi discrepancy between laptop/iphone4 and iphone 4s are at least 10mbs.

this thing is going back to apple asap.
