iPhone 4s has food stuck in charging port

I need help. There is food stuck in the charging port on the right side. Does anyone have any ideas how to get it out?

It is out of warranty so dismantling the phone is doable but not preferred.

Something like a q-tip? A dull pencil or something perhaps. Just be careful.

Toothpick to transfer food onto, a bit at a time, since you said it was sticky? Gentle setting on a vacuum cleaner might suck it out.

Turn phone off first.
