I'm sure this has been posted on here somewhere, but I didn't see a topic so here it goes.

I think Apple will introduce an "improved" iPhone 4 with the A5 chip, 8MP camera alongside the redesigned iPhone 5. Notice the wording - Apple will NOT bill this as a new device or call it the "4S" - they will simply state that they have "improved" the existing iPhone 4. This will allow for there to be "1 new iPhone" (the iPhone 5) as the 4S is simply a better iPhone 4.

What do you think?

EDIT: read post #7 for further explanation.

Couldn't this have been posted in one of the other 100 threads stating the same thing?

You just said that Apple will not call an "improved" iPhone 4 the 4S...Then you say the 4S is simply a better iPhone 4...I'm not following you.

And as for what I think...I think you couldn't be more wrong.

at the core of everything in my opinion is the definition of "new iPhone". all of the blogs and a lot of the posts on here that i've seen clearly differentiate and define the proposed iPhone 4S as a "new iPhone". what i'm saying is Apple will not bill the iPhone 4S as such, they will simply call it the iPhone 4 (with improvements).

essentially they will apply their approach to their computers to the iPhone 4. when they release a new iMac for example they don't call it the "iMac Thunderbolt" or "iMac Sandy Bridge", they just call it the new iMac and detail the improvements.

hope that makes more sense.
