Hi guys, I called at&t this morning and the lady told me my iPhone 4"s is capable to get 4G signal but I gad to surrender my grandfather unlimited plan for their new data plan. Do you think she pulled that out her ass? Do not make no sense.

As Far As I Know

And trying to interpret your English, you were told that AT&T support 4G?

She was most likely refering to the HSPA+ that they are calling 4G.

In any case though, since you are grandfathered in you should be able to get the 4s unlimited data plan.

Everytime I call customer service they always tells me something different. I called because I'm having reception issues at my mother house so I ask them why the new iPhone 4's are not receiving 4G network. That's all! I need to check with their new 4's unlimited data plan. I'm curious if someone that have the new phone 4's have the 4G showing on their iPhone.

Nothing is wrong with my english....... but thank you for pointed it out.

That is because iPhone 4S is NOT a 4G (LTE) phone and does not have the LTE chip in it. However it does have a theoretical download speed of 14.4 Mbps. Your iphone 4S will still run on 3G no matter what.

That's what I thought. Thank you for the clarification.

Not sure why you needed confirmation here. Specs are always available on Apple's site:
http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html
UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz)
GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
CDMA EV-DO Rev. A (800, 1900 MHz)

If something isn't mentioned (i.e. LTE) then don't assume that they threw it in for free.

Everytime I call customer service they always tells me something different.
Typical for any carrier. Learn to research on your own and corroborate data (don't rely on talking to a CSR).

Yes, your English sucks. Let me help. If that was an accurate repair.

iPhone 4S is a 4G/HSPA+ that will communicate on ATT's network at upto 14.4mbps. Realistic throughput after error correction and protocol overhead will be around 8-10mbps, for example on the speedtest.net app.

This does not require a new data plan, this does not require you to end your grandfather'd unlimited plan. It's basically an evolution of their 3G network.
