iPhone 4S Kernel Panic?

Hello all! Glad to be apart of MacRumors!

My little cousin's 4S is stuck in the dreaded itunes logo loop. Prior to this, her phone was jailbroken, before it was stuck in the loop I noticed a weird burn in effect before it shut off completely.



Every time I attempt a restore I get the Kernel Panic log, the apple logo behind the log and an error in Itunes when attempting a restore.



I have never seen this before, and cannot get this thing to restore.
Is this iphone out of commission?

Are you able to restore it through DFU mode?

I tried DFU mode, and reached the same Kernel Log.

You think its a hardware issue?

That is likely a hardware issue if the device cannot be restored through DFU mode.

I didnt want to spend all my time trying software fixes, if this iphone had a hardware problem!
