Iphone 4S lag when waking up

So whenever I press the home button or power button to wake up the phone from standby, theres a slight lag. I can tell theres a lag because the lighting of "slide to unlock" letters is also delayed. Its weird because when I have the phone plugged in, theres no lag. It only does it when the phone is unplugged and if its been in standby for a few seconds. Tried restoring several times, updated, with no luck. I searched on the forum I think a few people have this problem but no real solutions. Anyone have this problem or know of anything that might work?
