I bought a used iPhone that had a screen replacement. All works well, except the screen turns completely off if the "Screen Brightness" setting is turned to about 40% or lower. It's not that big a deal, and I considered replacing it myself, but does it sound like it's the brightness IC that's at fault?

That sounds like a possibility. Maybe you received a defective screen?

:eek:The iPhone screen's IC is very sensitive and easily damaged, you shouldn't use this defective LCD screen.
