Iphone 4S - Life of its own when placed down

Im not sure if this is specific to just the 4S or 4 as well but ive recently upgraded from a 3Gs and since then i've noticed that when placed on somewhere relatively safe such as an armchair armrest that all of a sudden it will fall off for no reason?
Like as if its fallen off due the the vibration of a text or call but that is definitely not the case... maybe vibration caused by the workings inside that is not noticeable?

Happened to me a few times recently where ive placed it somewhere where my 3GS has been fine for years

Ummm well your 4s is much flatter on the back than the 3gs was.

Also maybe the new case or if you're going with no case could be the issue?

Definitely had a different thought about what this thread was going to be when i clicked it

Thought it was like flipping orientation or something weird lol

It's probably the fact that the 4 is significantly smoother and slicker on the back.

I always use my 4 with a bumper, and that helps quite a bit.:)

I found the same when got the 4 (and now the 4S) from the 3Gs !! It was endlessly dropping onto the floor from what I though was a FLAT arm of my chair. It was/is so much more slippy! Anyways, I didn't want a case so just got a skin-flip for the back (uploaded own design) and its worked a treat!
 
Definitely more of a smoother surface I agree.

Just thought id put it out there as sometimes it falls to the floor 15 minutes after being placed there when im no where near it!
 
Is it sad that my iPhone is never out of my possession for 15 minutes?

But I have noticed when placing it on my legs while sitting down and trying to stay still. Impossible, so I just put it back in my pocket.
