iPhone 4S lock button broke, any alternatives to "AssistiveTouch"?

My lock button is broke on my iPhone 4S, and it is no longer under warranty...

I found a solution here involving using "AssistiveTouch" in the iPhone settings. This seems to be a common solution that I found online:

I would, however, prefer not to have that annoying white dot constantly somewhere on my screen. I know I can move the dot around, but it is still a bit annoying to have there.

I found some websites of some old apps from 2008 that claim to fix this:

Though, I could not figure out how to download them. Are there any better solutions than using "AssistiveTouch"?

Thanks!

Replace the lock button if you do not want to use the assistive touch
