Does anyone know any kind of magnetic levitating toy/kit or dock that may lift up the iPhone ? It would be very cool

Ive seen magnetic levitating kits, i just wonder if it d lift an iPhone. "Levitron Revolution is capable of floating any object in (or out of) your home that weighs less then 4 ounces" ?

I don't think it will be safe. Recently I asked Marware about their cases switching from magnet to velcro. The representative said Apple told them to switch because magnets can interfere with the iPhone 4. Plus there is an article at Apple that says magnetic cases can cause problems.

If some magnetic cases can cause problems just imagine the whole phone being suspended by magnets .

Strong magnets generate strong EM (electro-magnetic) fields, which is how cell phone signals get to your phone. Inside the phone, there are are things which are EM field susceptible. It would take a special shielded case to allow your iPhone to float safely, and such a case would also do a bang up job of blocking signals from getting to or out of your phone.

So you could theoretically have your phone float and just be a cool iPod touch, I guess.
