iphone 4s Mic Attachment?

Hi all, i was wondering where i can get an attachment that allows me to plug in another mic to the 4s, i know about the irig, but the mic is crap, i already have a mic, but just need an attachement that allows me to plug it into my 4s? any ideas?

are you talking just a 3.5 to 3.5 m/m cable?

how's that going to plug into the iPhone? or the mic for that matter?

I'd love something like that too. Some sort of device that plugged into the iPod port and accepted a 3.5 mini plug line input from mics would be awesome. Then pair it up with some app and I could be back to recording bands easily.
