The microphone on my 4S works absolutely fine for things like FaceTime and audio recording, but whenever I'm in a phone call, noone can hear me. I've tested and it seems the only time the microphone isn't working is in phone calls, works in everything else fine. Any ideas?

This problem has been around since the iPhone 4. I know this because the iPhone 4 that I originally had before I sold it had this problem shortly after I dropped it on a parking lot one night. Check this out:

There are a number of discussions on this problem, and some have solutions that may or may not work. I believe one of the possible causes to this problem is that a smd leading to the noise cancellation microphone has been knocked from the contacts/pad and the noise cancellation isn't working properly during calls, but the regular microphone works fine during voice recordings, etc.

Might have to visit the Apple Store to see what the Genius can do for you, or if you're feeling adventurous, try one of the "solutions" in the discussions. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone 5.
