Often, when I receive a phone call on my iphone 4S (version 8.4.1), only the phone number of the contact is displayed, not the name. (I am in the US and my carrier is AT&T) If I go to "Recent Calls", the name of the caller IS displayed, just as it is listed in my contacts. I have searched the internet to try and find a reason / fix for this to no avail. I hope someone here has a solution. Thanks!

That will happen after the phone is restarted but you haven't unlocked it yet.

Any chance that's the issue?

No, it's been going on for awhile now, and sometimes it works correctly, sometimes not.

Not sure, really. I am iCloud ignorant. But the fact that it works sometimes makes me think that may not be the issue. I'll look into it, though, Thanks!

On my 4S I would completely lose my contacts on occasion. It was because the phone, for whatever reason would sign out of iCloud. I still dont completely understand it. Signing back in would fix it.
