I ask this because i have an iphone 4s on 5.0.1 and i traveled to the carribean islands (where people speak spanish, to be more precise the Dominican republic) anyways i just inserted a sim card from this country (which i cutted my self with scissors using the small sim it came with as a guide to match the size) and within 20 seconds i was able to make calls and everything, so does this mean my iphone is Factory Unlocked or it has some kind of activation hack?? not jailbroken by the way
I just need to know if for any reason i update the firmware to 5.1 will i lose my unlock abilities? also my personal hotspot tab dissapeared and i was told to reset network setting, so iam afraid to lose unlock.
