I don't see too much in the way of speculation on whether there is likely to be a 64GB iPhone option with the new phone. Just wondering if others see it as being likely with the current state of memory technology. Although I'm doing fine with the 32GB with my current 3GS, I am hoping my next one has the additional space available.

Thoughts?

I doubt it, personally. They haven't done anything with the capacity since the very first iPhone, I don't think, and I don't know why they would now.

Always possible, though.

Why wouldn't they? Prices have come down while application sizes, camera image sizes, and overall uses of the phone have gone up.

Not to mention, their competition allows for more capacity than just 32GB... either straight out of the box, or via SD cards.

aaaaaactually, that's entirely false.
iPhone max capacity (when originally released): 8GB
iPhone 3G: 16GB
iPhone 3GS: 32GB
iPhone 4: 32GB

Seeing as how the iPod Touch got 64GB two years ago, I think we're due for a storage upgrade this time around.
