I got a Otterbox defender from ebay, and it fits great etc, issue is that when i unlock it and look at it i can see pixels when i look at the icons or at a white background, is this normal?

Be careful, if it is from eBay then there is a high chance that it could be a fake depending on the seller you bought from. Also from my experience, the defender does reduce the quality of the retina display a little bit because it has a screen protector, but I don't think there should be any pixels visible.

That's because it uses a sort of AntiGlare screen shield. It's normal on the Defender. Many have popped out that shield and used their own, like me.
