According to that site, my phone was made in September of 2005. Something in me says that's not quite right. ;)

Is that site for iPhones? Because I put in my iPhone serial number and it didn't work at all.

But just by reading the copy on the site, it looks like they look up mac serial codes for everything but iPhones. Though I could be wrong

My serial number only has two numbers in it at all. It's like this: x38xxxxxxxxx. I'm guessing my phone is a week 38 then.

Week 41 for me according to the site. That would mean it was shipped by day 2 of that week. :)

Week 40 here, according to the chipmunk.nl site.

According to appleserialnumberinfo.com it was the 1602nd iPhone built that week, but doesn't know the week number.

Strange.

How on earth would they know the number built that week, and yet not know what week it was even built on?

There's a group of characters that indicate which number it was for that week. They apparently figured out which group of characters that was (usually the 3 right before the last 3), but haven't decoded which part represents the production week
