Hi, i hope this is a helpful titbit of info!!!!
Was chatting with an apple “expert"

"You are chatting with Deborah L, an Apple Expert
Hi, my name is Deborah L. Welcome to Apple!

The new iPhone 4S. What is the RAM capacity?

Hi, Welcome to Apple Chat!

We offer the 16, 32 and 64GB

They will be available for pre order on October 7th for delivery on October 14th in the UK.

Yes I know that is the storage capacity, but the Random Access Memory, is it 512mb or 1gb?

1GB normally.

And that is an upgrade form the iPhone 4's 512mb then.

Yes, it is"

Hope you find this as interesting as i did!

Hopefully Siri won't be limited to devices with 1GB of RAM. I'm hoping this comes available quickly to jailbroken iPhone 4's

"1GB normally"

WTF does that mean? Sounds like she didn't know what she was talking about.

Maybe this is correct and Maybe Deborah L. knows her ****, but from the transcript of the call it doesn't sound like it. It almost sounds like she doesn't know what RAM is.

And she says "1GB normally"? What does this mean? The iPhone has never had 1GB before, so it it certainly isn't normal. Likewise, the different 4S models are not going to have differing amounts of RAM. The answer "normally" makes no sense.

Maybe Deborah L. is a AppleCare-Bot.

Yeah I thought that too, but following that I tried to mention the iPhone 5 and it was pretty much a rehearsed answer, on about the iPhone 4S' Memory and Siri Features. The info seemed pretty concrete.

Sorry but that sounds dubious. I doubt she knew what she was talking about. I'm not saying it's not 1GB as it may well be but I don't think what she said confirms it.

AGREED, Deborah L. has no clue what RAM is.

She just saw the bigger number and decided to confirm that, by adding "normally" to it.

lol.

First give her a primer on RAM maybe?
