iPhone 4S resetting?

Since last night I have noticed three times that I picked up my phone to use it and it was off... It was fully charged, I didn't turn it off but it was off.

Once in fact it had the swirly ball in the middle like it was powering down...

Is this a common problem? I made an Apple Store appointment for this evening.

Any news on this? I have the same thing happening on my 16GB Black 4S.

One of My friends is Having a Similar Issue with her 16GB white 4S, Not sure why. Let me Know if you find out.
