Iphone 4S restore 5.01

Hi,

I've got a replacement phone from the apple store today and came home and jailbreaked it because its still running 5.01

I've now noticed the vibrate isn't very good and want to return to the apple store again. Hence the problem its jailbroken

How can I restore 5.01 and not 5.1. Just incase apple say they will not return the phone and I stuck with this now on 5.1

I've played around with the /etc/hosts file and stuff but no joy

unfortunately you cannot restore to 5.0.1 any more for the 4S.

Because that what apple want iPad 2 and iPhone 4s can't update to iOS 5.0.1 just to 5.1

I'm not sure, I had a similar problem a few weeks ago and despite my best efforts I never found a solution!

Apple stopped signing the 5.0.1 iOS a few weeks ago.

Saving blobs didn't work.

If you upgrade then your stuck on that.

Its my understanding that apple will replace hardware faulty iPhones so i wouldn't worry too much.

Worst case scenario... you restore to 5.1 and all is fine with the vibrate and you now have to wait a while for an untethered jb or use the tethered version for now.

Apple give you a new iPhone with possibly 5.0.1 on it !

There is no boot level exploit for A5 devices, therefore it is impossible to use hashes and APTicket to restore to older, unsigned firmware.
