iPhone 4s speaker issue

Do any of you with a 4s have white noise coming out your speaker when you are on the keypad screen. It's not very loud but I have some sort of static sound, wanted to know if this was normal.

It's very strange, but it's actually perfectly normal. My iPhone 4S is the same.

I remember when I first got my iPad, it was one of the first things I noticed. It's not only the iPhone and iPad either, the iPod Touch does it too.

I wonder what causes it...

Interesting...I've got it too. Maybe it's just where the phone activates the speaker when you're on the keypad, since you hear the individual tones when dialing? Just my guess.

Anyway, I wouldn't worry about it too much. It looks like it's normal.

Thanks everyone, just didn't want a faulty unit getting worse after the 14 day exchange policy. Looks like I'll keep it.

If it did get worse I'd expect it to be a warranty repair.

I would say any sound while on the phone keypad screen (and no call in progress) is abnormal. If I switch my 4S on, go to phone app and then keypad, there is no sound other than digit tones even when I hold it up to my ear. Whether you wish to live with it for now and deal with it later or take your phone in now is your choice.

Mine does the same , if you turn the the keyboard clicks off in sounds it won't do it, it also does it on the phone keypad.
Id say nothing to worry about, just the phone activating the speaker for the tones, if you could adjust the keypad tones louder and quieter the white noise would prob get louder and quieter too.
