iPhone 4S Speaker louder?

Anyone else notice that the speaker is way louder? Playing music, Ringing, Speakerphone. All seem louder to me.

Much louder, I don't think so. It is barely louder. Nothing compared to other smart phones.

Haha; I thought the iPhone 4 speaker was loud compared with many phones. Sounds a useful feature to be honest.

My rings are very loud but I can hardly hear my phone calls received (I think volume is set to a max). Any ideas?

My 4S is noticeably louder than my 4. I can easily hear some podcasts on the 4S that were hard to hear on the 4, for example.

I enjoy that the sound is much louder. I've had an iPhone since the orignal one and that's always been one of my biggest complaints. Lets all be happy about it!

I hear the Xperia Play has very loud speakers too. And the W810 was loud for its time. Can't underestimate Sony when it comes to audio.

Good to hear it is louder on the 4S. We have come a long way from the 2G days which had a terrible speaker.

For me to get a louder sound on my iPhone speaker, I just go on options in iTunes and just raise the volume to the max for all my content in music and videos. Not only does it affect the loudness with headphones, it also affects the loudness through the speaker. I say a good 20% louder through the speaker.

So glad to hear this. My speaker on my 3gs sucks majorly. My fiance has a 4 and her's is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better than mine. i'll finally have something to be able to hold over her head lol

I get my 4s in less than a month!!!

Some of the Mac podcasts that I like are recorded at a fairly low level, and it was frustrating to have to often hold the speaker next to my ear (when driving, for example) with my iPhone 4 or 3GS. I hate wearing earbuds or earphones, and with the 4S I've found myself having to turn the external speaker volume down to a comfortable level. Much better.

I also noticed a louder sound on the 4S compared to the 4, but also it sounds very "tinny" as well. You can adjust the sound when playing a song but the ringtones sound like the treble is all the way up and no bass. Overall, I think the speakers were better on the 4.

Coming from the 3GS, the 4S' speakers are a huge step up. It was one of the first things I noticed when I got my 4S
