Iphone 4s stuck on blk screen

I jailbroke my iphone 4s last week when it came out, up till now I have had no problems. Today the springboard crashed and its been stuck on black screen with circle spinning. it spins then stops for a few seconds then it spins again. its been stuck in that loop for about 30 minutes. I have tried to power down but it will not. I am not at home so I cannot plug it into my macbook to recover. Has anyone else experience this and is there away to come out off this loop im stuck in. I have not installed any themes or any other tweeks. I was at half charge I am hoping battery will drain down and turn off. Any suggestions?

Hold the Power button and the Home button at the same time until you see the Apple Logo on the screen. If that never happens, well, I think you're SOL then.
