So my office at work is in a basement. My cell provider (Sprint) doesn't have a signal down there, but there is a roaming network I pick up (probably Verizon) and I usually have 1-2 bars. Even though the signal is weak, it's there, and I can always count on that one bar.
We use wifi down there to compensate for our phones not being able to send messages, and to save them from continually searching for a stronger signal. For the most part this works fine, because we all have iPhones.
Anyways, when someone sends a text message (not iMessage), I don't receive it until I actually turn the screen of my phone on. It's like the cellular network is asleep because the wifi connection is good. I have to continually turn my phone on, wait 3-4 minutes, then the texts come through.
Anyone else experience this issue in low-signal situations?
