Hi I have upgraded last year when iPhone 4 came out in 2010 July and AT&T says I won't be eligible for upgrade until 2012 Feb. Just wonder if I purchase the iPhone 4S now at the retail price, will it extend my contract?

In the Apple site, I was only able to get a reservation but in the AT&T site, it let me to go through the option to order an iPhone 4S at retail price. However, I hesitated to do so as I don't want to have my contract extended. Any comment, should I order through AT&T or keep my reservation# from Apple?

At the retail price, will it be more worthy to pay the extra $50 and get an unlocked so it can be used worldwide or the AT&T version is already unlocked as I have heard there's no more locking with iPhone 4S?

Thanks for all your time and help. Good luck and have fun with your iPhone 4S :)

It will extend you contract if you are getting anything off the retail price. If you pay the no-commit price it will not.

Unlocked 4S units will not be available until a later date.
