My wife is going to be upgrading her iPhone soon (she has a 4s)- not sure if she will get the 5s or the 6.

I'm wondering how much do you think the value of the 4s will drop once the announcement of the 6 is made (likely this September).

Do you think it might drop $50?

I'm trying to figure out the best time to make the switch for her- as right now you can get a 5s $100 off. If Apple does come out with 2 versions again (the 4.6 and the 5.5 in screen), I could see them making the 5c the free phone and dropping the 5s like they did with the 5.

Would you just wait and see how the cards fall in a couple of months or make the move now if she knows she is going to go with the 5s?

Thanks for the advice.

If this helps; just sold my spare iPhone 4, 32GB, Unlocked, Black on eBay for $175.00.

it's a 16 gb. Right now it seems they are going for about $150-$180 on Ebay. the 3gs comparison helps.

about how much the 3gs was worth when the 5 came out. not much. maybe $120 or so for a 16gb model.
It can likely be more given that the 4S is more robust at this point (with a dual core CPU and better GPU and retina and better camera and all that) than the 3 GS was when the 5 came out.

How much is an ATT black iPhone 4S worth now? Where is the best place to sell? It's 32 GB and Pristine condition, original box, packing, accessories.

I seem to be getting a few takers, close friends, for a Sprint 4S 32GB Black for $200, believe this or not. But, I can't sell until I get a 6. I need a phone for work.

I was even thinking about purchasing a Gold 32GB 5S for $749 now making that $549 if I sell the 4S, but do I really want to spend another $749 in two months and keep the 5S as a keepsake? Answer: Probably not.
