Carrier iPhone 5 16B US Sprint Unlock

I recently purchased an iPhone 5 16B Sprint and did some IMEI checks to find out this :

US Sprint N42 Locked Activation Policy

Can it be unlocked? Do i have to get a Sprint Sim to activate the phone?

A sprint iPhone cannot be unlocked for US use.
Just for international gsm use.
