Calls work fine when paired to my Kenwood Excelon DNX6990HD but music controls through Bluetooth is not fully functional. I can make and answer calls on the on screen display on the Kenwood, but when it comes to music, there is no Track Info, and I can't skip, pause, play, or use any of the onscreen controls! When I use my iPhone 4S with iOS6, I have no problems.

Hopefully Kenwood will come out with an update. It's really frustrating since I have to wait and pay for the $30 adaptor to use in my car and now I'm not certain if I'm going to run into the same issue.

Thanks for the link! Looks like some people are also having issues when trying to plug this straight to the USB port with the lightning adaptor (which I sort of expected).

Same here. I have the Kenwood x896 and I can get and make calls. I can play music through the Bluetooth but no information comes up on the unit and I can't use the deck to stop, pause, or move through the music. Haven't tried using the "lighting" USB cord yet.

I have an iPhone 5 w/ the DNX9990hd. It connects but my calls won't go through the head unit. Anyone know how to fix the problem?

I think the song info and head unit controls are broken from iOS6 for Bluetooth. The music player and Slacker info used to show up on the beta versions of iOS6 on iPhone 4S. Now they don't. If I connect with the 30 pin it works fine.

I hope the song info shows up using the lightning to 30 pin otherwise this is going to suck! Anyone know if Kenwood is working on an update?

you might have to re-pair your phone and HU... my iphone 5 with ios6 works flawlessly (regarding incoming outgoing calls) over my DNX9990HD

under bluetooth settings, and keep your phones bluetooth settings open and just re-pair them

Hey Guys, got this from the Kenwood Forums!!! Great NEWS!!!!

I'm relieved to report that my Apple 30-pin to Lightning adapter cable arrived today, and that all functions of the DNX-6990HD work just fine with the iPhone 5, with the exception of video from the iPhone (which was expected). I connected the cable between the KCA-iP202 and the iPhone 5.

- Pandora: full functionality
- aha Radio: full functionality
- all controls work for skipping, pausing, etc.
- the iPod search function works -- displays all albums, songs, playlists, etc.
- all album artwork is displayed (Pandora, aha, iPod)
- all track information is displayed
- audio -- yes the adapter has a DAC built-in, which is necessary because the Kenwood navigation receivers only accept analog audio via the Kenwood iPod cable (for mine, thats the KCA-iP202) -- and it sounds as excellent as it did before

I have not tested 'App Mode', but I suspect it does not work, since there is no video through the adapter. (I never used it previously)

It works for me on my Kenwood. For AD2P I discovered to repair, and not have the phone book transfer on. I believe I alos had to enter the pair code in the phone at not the head unit. That seemed to work flawless at that point.

I received the 30 pin to lightning adaptor and it works perfectly on my kenwood 6990HD!!! Steering wheel controls are flawless and display song titles and album covers too.
