Could Apple, theoretically use the same ipsw for the 5 and 5c. There is no differences really, is there? Just wondering....

No. The iPhone 5C has different cellular hardware than the iPhone 5. Therefor the IPSW file will be different.

No, there are differences including the cellular hardware as someone mentioned.

When would this even come up and be an issue? From Apple, you'll always get the correct ipsw. Any site that hosts those files would have both, not just one, so it really should never be a problem.
