Interesting day.

Black one arrived 10:15 this am.

And it arrived Pre scratched with a deep nick right at the chamfer and lighting connector.
Shiny aluminum peaking out at the sun.

Connector is flaky too, just a tap and it drops all connectivity.

A replacement is coming via Apple Care but who knows when.

However there was good news

The lightning cable works well with the Infiniti G37 car audio that accepts a standard USB cable.

All controls work as expected, charges ok, and it still pulls across podcast cover art.

Bluetooth Audio works as expected also

Thanks for sharing that. I have a 2010 Maxima and have not had a chance to test iPod integeration yet.

iPhone 5 and car Audio, UGH!

I too am saddened that the iPhone 5 is not working with my car stereo. I have a JVC system with the front USB and the display stayed stuck on "READING" and does not pick up on ANY input from my new phone.

Upon removing the device and the USB cable, it appears that my stereo unit now no longer even acknowledges USB as an option. I've reset the unit and it still has no USB option.

Is it possible that the Lightning cable is not only incompatible, but also a killer of car stereos? Or is it just me...

Cry.
