iPhone 5 and iMessages

Hi!

My wife and I both got new iPhone 5 on Friday. Since then we have been sending some iMassages in either way.

This morning I send another one to her and it was sent as (green) SMS - for whatever reason. I had this experience when we used our iPhone 4 and the phone always switched back to the blue iMessage after one SMS - so no big deal.

But this time the phone is "stuck" in the SMS mode.

Anyone having the same problem?

It's possible that apple is having server issues. There is a setting that says send as sms if imessage fails, what happens if you turn that off?
