Haven't had an iPhone since the 3GS so not sure it this is how it's suppose to be but when I set my brightness to about 60% with auto brightness on ill go back and check the next time I pull the phone out my pocket and it'll be at 100%. Is this normal? Do you guys leave auto brightness on or off?

I turn mine off because I want greater control (like if I am rocking my infant to sleep in the middle of the night, I want it to be as dim as possible). However, yes that is how auto brightness should work. It determines, based on the amount of light is in the room, how bright the screen needs to be. If you are outside in bright sunlight = 100%, if you are in a dim room it might set itself for 30%.

That's b/c it's AUTO-brightness; as in it automatically changes for you. ;)
