I assume the Apple store will replace the battery in my iPhone 5 with a new one, does anyone know how much this costs?

I see I can get a battery and everything that I need from ifixit for $30, but that is not an OEM battery and it seems so cheap in price for a battery and the tools.

Most non OEM batteries work just fine. The Apple store will charge more because they replace it with an Apple branded battery. You're paying for the name. If you want to do it yourself you can get a battery for under $10 (you will still need tools to take the phone apart) from places like Gadget Menders or on eBay.

I didn't realize that batteries were so cheap.

I ended up ordering the kit from iFixIt for $30.

I wouldn't mind paying the extra money to have Apple change the battery for me, ensuring that I don't break anything. But I just don't want to wait at the mall for hours so that's why I chose to attempt to do it myself.
