iphone 5 - can you zoom while recording video?

Can you zoom while recording video on iphone 5?
I can pinch zoom while taking pics but cannot seem to figure out how to zoom while taking videos.

Is there a trick to it?

No zoom in video camera mode. At least not in the native camera app.
