I just picked up my 5 and went ahead and got a Otterbox Defender for it for the time being, but I want something slimmer/smaller. The Defenders are nice, they're just too bulky in my opinion. Is there anything else out there that anybody would recommend? I'm not so worried about scratching the glass, but I do want to protect it and the rest of the phone from drops.

Thanks,

Dan

I hear poetic atmosphere is good.

I preordered the rokform case... Looks awesome for my needs.

My incase is kinda thin. Actually feels really good on the phone. No bulk. I bought it at Best buy.

I'm kinda in the same boat. But I do want a bezel to protect the front glass. I'm leaning either towards the Poetic Atmosphere or the Photive Natural Slim. Lol fortunately they are both so cheap that I'm kinda tempted to order both and figure out which one I would prefer to have.

you ever considered Rokform? their new iPhone 5 case looks like an advanced Otterbox Commuter case combined with the Otterbox Reflex. Just a suggestion --> http://www.rokform.com/cart/Rokshield-v3-iPhone5-Case.html

1. Snug fit and the front has extended lip around the screen edge the glass won't touch the table if you put it face down. Top & bottom are exposed. Generic cutout for volume buttons & vibrate switch.

2. Feels cheap. But it's slim. Top & bottom exposed.

3. Very well built. Fits perfectly. Top & bottom exposed.

4. Pretty much the same as #3.

5. Not bad. This one's a matte color and not very grippy. Fits perfectly. Only top & bottom are exposed.

6. Same as #6, but with a rubbery, grippy feel. Fits perfectly. Only top & bottom are exposed.

7. The left, right and top of the bumper are a shiny black with the front and back edges being a off-black or almost dark grey color. Bumper is flexible but firm.

8. The case is a tight fit around the phone, it's a perfect fit that goes on without scratching the aluminum sides. The left and right bumpers of the case are hard plastic, while the back/top/bottom are rubber-ish TPU

9. It has a smooth, comfortable feel to it. It doesn't add any unnecessary weight and it fits nice and snug, as expected.

10. I like. Reminds me of the Case-Mate Barely There series. The fit is perfect. Fully covers left & right sides of phone. Top & bottom are open.

11. Meh. TPU case paired with a plastic bumper. All sides are covered.

12. Super light, no bulk, fits perfect yet not to hard to put on or take off.

Consider

I have some thin cases and some thick ones . . . but I think the most protection from the thinnest case would be Switcheasy Tones. Really nice fit and great protection, but still quite thin.

I tried both the Ringke slimfit and the elago slimfit for the white iphone 5 and found that Ringke was slightly thinner than the elago one and had a near perfect fit. Also, the elago case was glossy and had a slippery grip compared to the ringke one and I almost let my phone slip a couple of times with that case.

Just a comment.

I have to admit, that I haven't got around to buying a case for my year old 4S. It just looks too nice to put in a box of any kind. I had one for my first iPhone, a 3G, but I never used it after having it about a month. It was too thick in the pocket, and ruined the look of the phone. Given that the 4S is way prettier than the 3G, I just can't bare to cover it up.

I know I'll be sorry one of these days, but I have dropped it once hard enough to dent the metal bezel, but with no harm to the glass...

(rolls eyes at self)
