Hi all,

After my iPhone 5 lighting cable broke a few months ago I decided to go down the cheap route and get £1 wires which worked for a while but now I've purchased the £15 official Apple one my phone charges fine while plugged I to the wall at home.

My issue is, I work very long days, so im not always at home to be charging my phone and carrying my charger Into people's properties searching for a plug socket isn't a very professional look.

Decided to go and buy one of these phone case chargers that charge your phone when it's low. It doesn't work.

To find out if it was my phone or the charging case I've tried it on two iPhone 5 handsets from friends at work one was up to date on software, and one hasn't done the latest update yet. It has also worked perfectly on my partners iPhone 5s.

It also doesn't charge in any car charger (tried two different ones with my official iPhone wire but works fine for my partners iPhone 5s)

Baffles and fed up, decided to pop it into the shop for them to deal with it and fix it - they couldn't!

They've changers the battery & the power dock to no avail and they even tried to take one of their charging cases out of new packaging and it still won't charge my phone they referred me to Apple genius over the phone and he said he didn't have a clue, offered to make me an appointment to pop in, but feel it's pointless travelling miles to be told the same thing as I was on the phone. As its not in warranty it'll need to be replaced for £206...

Has anybody heard of similar issue or problem? My phone has been updated to the latest update and isn't jail broken.

Any help or push in right direction would be great. Really didn't want to fork out for another 2 year contract or new phone.

Thanks in advance and sorry for such a story!
