In case those wondering if it's still called Black or White.

Nope.

According to the Apple Store App they are.

White and Silver

Black and Slate

Do you prefer the old names ( Black or White ) or the new (Black and Slate or White and Silver ) names better?

Personally, the i5 will still be referenced as either black or white as a choice. The referencing of the trim color is secondary and unimportant.
