With news that there are production/design delays with the iPhone 5. Is it possible that the iPhone 5 will be coming next year?

Yes, the article is a few months old, but it could still hold true.

No.
It'll be here next month.

Long answer:
9to5Mac said there would be shortages of the iPhone 5, just like how there are shortages of every iDevice. This old article says that the iPhone 5 will be released during Spring, which will not happen.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 3GS: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_5 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8L1 Safari/6533.18.5)

Not bloody likely.

I'm still gonna say it will be released but with very limited quantities. At least, I hope so. I'm eligible to recontract from the end of the month and I'm not interested with the 4S. :)

The quantities are almost always limited. Look what happened with the iPad 2 and the iPhone 4 (day after release). Us apple people are going to grab it first anyway haha.

That's true. I'm from Singapore and I ordered the iPhone 4 though Apple Store Online even before it was released officially. Just a few hours early cos I found a business consumer link haha. But had to wait for 30 days to get it shipped. At this point in time, I'll just be happy with an official image and the official specs.

Oh sure, Apple is going to upset the industry all over again by waiting two years between releases! NOPE

Apple would NEVER hold a mainstream product from a refresh for nearly two years. That would be a terrible business move and other phone manufactures would just dominate with no iCompetition. There are already lots of folk on here openly talking about buying new phones if the iPhone 5 is not released in October.

The iPod Classic would like to have a word with you.

Does the iPod Classic even have competition? People think that it's pretty much dead.

If we don't hear about it this year, then i think we can expect it to be EOL.
