Screen Size: 4"
Width: 62.8mm (Concept is +4.2mm wide)
Height: 118.7mm (Concept is +3.5mm tall)
Depth: 6.1mm (Concept is -3.2mm thin)
Home Button: Capacitive / Physical Hybrid
- Comes out by about 1mm, feels like a square bump to the touch
- Regular actions (double press = app switcher, single press = close)
- Press & swipe up = Opens App switcher (press to close)
- Press & swipe down = Opens Notification Center (press to close)
- Press & swipe left/right = Switches between apps (like multitouch gestures)

I didnt include the buttons/dock/speakers/sim

The main differences between this concept compared to the iPhone 4, besides the dimensional changes in all aspects (width, height, depth) are the screens 4" screen, & thinner, more refined aluminum rim & backing.

I used the same aluminum rim that the iPhone 4 is so greatly adored for, except I shortened it to only 4mm (compared to the 6mm it normally is)

I gave the back a moderately sharp cut around it, the thickness measures out to about 2mm.

The back of the iPhone 5 concept is roughly 85% flat.

Normal Resolution (600 x 580)
High Resolution (3,000 x 2250)

Looks good, but I don't like the very slightly raised home button. I prefer the smooth drop down into the home button that is currently used. But apart from that, nice job.

After using a Blackberry for a week and going back to the iPhone 4, I realized how much I missed LED notifications. Such a useful feature.

Hopefully this time Apple will make the home button glow when we have notifications!

the edges won't be squarish like in your mockup. it will have tapered off edges, kinda like the iPad 2.

Lovely render, although I believe that if Apple goes with the antenna band idea again, there'll inevitably be black seams as on the iPhone 4.

By the way, the metal band is actually made from an Apple-specified stainless steel alloy, not aluminium.

I sure hope not. I really like the look of the square edges. Makes the buttons much easier to use as well. I'd be fine with rounding off the edges though.
