Just found out that the iPhone 5 costs 699 in Belgium which is absolutely insane!
The iPhone 4S was 629 which I thought was on the pricy side.
In Belgium (and many other places in Europe) you have to buy an unlocked phone.
I'm interested to know whether the US people would pay 699 for an iPhone?
I think it's way to expensive and I'm happy I ended buying the iPhone 4S

Without contract in the U.S. it cost $649,$749,and $849 US Dollars for the iPhone 5 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB respectivitely

... dollars, not euro. 699 euro amount to 900$ for the 16GB model. Anyway, hard to compare because taxes, salaries, cost of living all have to be factored in. Just saying ...

It's ridiculously expensive, that's for sure.

Us prices are excluding tax. Doesn't Belgium have similar taxes, if not higher than the uk?

It appears that the average income in Belgium is 30%-40% higher than the average income in the US although not sure how that translates to real income but I'm guessing you also have things like health care which evens it out.
