An iPhone 5 was dropped and the screen cracked, along with a very minor dent on the metal band. The phone was suffering from a slightly unresponsive home button prior to the accident.

So paying $150 for a replacement screen is fine. However, what other options are there, if any, for a replacement handset? The minor dent isn't really an issue but the home button issue is, and I can see Apple charging another $100 to fix that given the warranty is voided because of a cracked screen.

You can get the whole phone replaced for about $250 (I forgot the exact price)

It isn't related to warranty, so even with an expired warranty, your phone would be replaced.
