I have a chance to get an iPhone 5 unlocked now for $350 (going rate in Canada is 450+).

Can anyone venture a guess about what they will be selling for in the US once the iPhone 6/5S comes out? I don't know whether I should get this one and then take it down to the US when I move there in a few months, or just wait until I get there (once the 6 or 5S is out) and get a cheaper 5 at that time.

Getting it now also means I can give my iPhone 4 to my mom that much sooner, which would be nice...I just don't know whether it's worth it to get it now, only to pay an extra...100? 200? for the privilege.

No one can tell you if it's worth it to you or not. That's your call to make. How important is it to you? Is it $100 important? $200 important?

Well how much do you get from your mom for the 4?

Nothing! haha. Turns out it is a 32GB (not 16 as I thought) and has Applecare+ until Oct 2014. I think I lucked out!

My 16GB iPhone 5 sold on eBay for $500 after only being listed for 30 minutes last week. The average seems to be about $530 ish if you're lucky.

I put my up on CL yesterday and seems like most people are willing to pay about $520 for it.
