I was able to place my order last night through the App Store app shortly after midnight, and when i checked the status this morning, here is what i found...Anyone else gotten an improved date??

I had that happen with my iPad 3 delivery. It'll say that but come 9/19 when it's scheduled for delivery it'll switch to "Carrier Held" until the real date.

We shall see...I know many people have also had their devices delivered a few days early in the past. Maybe that will be ME!

I think he meant that if it actually does get to your hub on the 19th, odds are they'll hold it and then deliver it on the 21st with everyone else's.

I know people both with the iPhone 4S and iPad that got their units one day before the launch date.

Delivery of 9/18

Hey Guys, I have a similar delivery to home date of 9/18! I hope it really comes that early!!!

I just got off the phone with apple and they said that the 1st 1000 orders might get their shipment at an earlier date! I'm not going to argue!!!

Looks like we may have been in the top 1000!

I believe that a lot of them will arrive a day or two earlier, well the ones that made the 9/21 cut.

My guess is that all the haters have a delivery date >9/21. Anything is possible, and to state that you are certain i won't get it early is a bit silly.

I remember receiving my iPhone 4 two days early, so it's completely plausible. There's nothing like having a brand new iPhone in your hand while driving past long lines of people camp out at the Apple stores. It would be way too difficult for FedEx or UPS to hold on to thousands of boxes and deliver them all on the same day.

If you live in some rural area where your delivery carrier isn't in "the know" then it is possible. The iPhone 4 launch definitely had a lot of people get their phone a day early, but since then Apple has really laid down the law in making sure their carriers don't release them until 9/21. I know for a fact (friend who works there) my 4S was at my local UPS hub close to 48hrs early, but they are under strict obligations not to release them.
